What is the Institute?

The Institute is an initiative of Authenticity Consulting, LLC, to develop more consultants who are more effective in guiding their clients to successfully solve problems and achieve goals in their organizations.

While there are many books and resources about the business of starting and marketing a consulting business, there are few readily accessible resources for learning how to work with clients to solve problems or achieve goals in a project -- and for helping clients to solve those problems for themselves in the future. Usually, resources that do exist are packaged into expensive training programs (for example, as degrees in Organization Development) offered by educational institutions and training centers.

The Institute aims to make resources about consulting more practical and readily accessible to those who are considering the field of consulting and those who have very limited resources from which to develop their skills.

You Can't Be Trained to Be a Consultant, You Must Be Developed

It's not enough to take a series of training sessions -- consulting is a skill that must be developed. Development comes from getting new information from trainings and other resources, but then actually applying that new information and continually reflecting on your experiences with yourselves, your clients and colleagues. That's why this is the Consultants Development Institute.

The following paragraphs include links to an extensive range of free, online resources that provide information about consulting. To develop that information into skills, we hope that you'll consider taking the appropriate workshop listed below, as well.

Our Highly Experienced Senior Consultants and Coaches

We work with a cadre of highly experienced senior consultants and coaches, each of whom has extensive experience as a consultant -- many of whom teach courses about guiding change in organizations. To Customize a Consultant Development Program

All employees should have at least basic skills in consulting -- skills to effectively identify problems in the workplace, how to identify the symptoms of those problems from the true causes, and how to work with people to guide them to solve their own problems. The most powerful forms of consultant development are those that are customized to the nature and needs of your organization. To discuss how a program could be customized for your organization,
